Training in Psychotherapy

The Rütte-Forum offers a three to five year training program combining Initiation Therapy (based on the work of Karlfried Graf Dürckheim) and Transpersonal Psychology.

Initiation Therapy is especially sensitive to mystical experiences and to subtle sensations of being. These are understood as catalysts for movement forward on the path of individuation. The goal of Initiation Therapy is to establish a more permanent connection to transcendence. This is accomplished by mastering the shadow elements of the soul, by the integration of masculine and feminine aspects, and by establishing an ego-self-axis. The central theme from Transpersonal Psychology is the integration of peak experiences (Maslow).

The training program is divided into three phases: scholarship, practical training, and assistance. For those who do not plan to work as a therapist, the first or first two may be undertaken without the third phase. Beyond the professional aspects of the training, it usually results in the integration of new thoughts and experiences into everyday living and working.

The training requirements for the overall program are equivalent to the European Union standards for psychotherapy training. Therefore medical doctors and psychologists client's fees may in some circumstances be covered by medical insurance. Individuals not belonging to these groups, who are interested in practicing in Germany, should also undertake the certification process for "non-medical practitioner" (Heilpraktiker), limited to psychotherapy, so that they will comply with the legal requirements for psychotherapists who will work in Germany.

Rütte-Forum is not only a training center. It is also a place for contemplation and meditation. Individual's who are beginning or continuing on the spiritual path can receive accompaniment in their process. Many return periodically for longer or shorter retreats..

In addition, within the limits of our resources, we assist individuals during or after a spiritual crisis. Student's in the second or third training phase often help in this work.
